Sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts head to the vast white sandy beach of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, which is no less than 4 km long. Hikers head to the beautiful Gigaro Plage to walk around the cape (Cap Lardier) via the coastal path. Bring your swimming trunks and picnic basket, as you will have little coves to cool off everywhere along the way. Cavalaire is a fun destination even out of season, as there is always something to do, and it often has slightly higher temperatures (microclimate). From Cavalaire, there are super many fun excursions. Take the ferry to the bounty islands of Porquerolles and Ile de Port-Cros. Or get in the car and follow the coastal road to the flower village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, fashionable Saint-Tropez, and colorful Port-Grimaud, also called the little Venice of France. The choice is endless!

Unfortunately, there is no outdoor grill available. We had to improvise to make use of the outdoor grilling area. Additionally, it was very cold and damp on the lower floor; it felt quite musty. We had to ventilate the space constantly and warm it up, especially drying it out with heating stoves. Unfortunately, it was also not clean, and on the first day, the entire villa had to be vacuumed and cleaned for about 1.5 hours, including the ceilings and walls, and cleared of cobwebs, spiders, and other small creatures. Unfortunately, some of the outdoor lighting also did not work, and we had to look for and activate fuses. Nevertheless, not everything worked out. There were also no descriptions or instructions available, which would have made life easier. The villa has been partially remodeled and modernized, especially on the lower floor; however, due to the moisture, mold is already forming everywhere, and it’s a paradise for various bugs, spiders, and critters. It’s quite a shame. On a positive note, we were pleasantly surprised by the central vacuum system, though I think those who are not familiar with it may find it difficult to start using it. Otherwise, the villa is located in a very quiet area and is conducive to relaxation. The pool is also very modern and equipped with a counter-current system.
