Rent a luxury holiday home at the Côte d'Azur / French Rivièra

The Côte d'Azur, also known as the French Riviera, is the southern coastal strip in southern France. With an average of three hundred days of sunshine a year, this Mediterranean area in the south of France is an excellent holiday destination all year round. The Côte d'Azur region is known as one of the most luxurious places in the world. Many celebrities and wealthy people have a home at the Côte d'Azur in the South of France.

Those who enjoy luxury yachts, exclusive cars, villas and casinos can enjoy themselves in popular places such as Saint-Tropez, Cannes (known for the annual international film festival) and Monte Carlo in Monaco. Other places such as Cap-Ferrat or Fréjus are certainly worth a visit.

With approximately 350,000 inhabitants, Nice is considered the capital of the Côte d'Azur. Officially, this is also where the French Riviera begins, which then turns into the Italian Riviera at Menton. Nice has its own airport and is popular by tourists because of its extensive boulevards (Promenade des Anglais), parks and museums. Nice is also a magnet during the carnival in winter. The annual Carnival in Nice is one of the most important events in the Côte d'Azur in winter. From Nice, the surrounding towns along the Côte d'Azur are easily accessible by car, bus or train.

Winter sports and skiing at the Côte d'Azur

Given the mild climate of the Côte d'Azur, you would hardly expect it, but in addition to winter visitors, the area also attracts winter sports enthusiasts. At about 1 hour's drive from Nice you will find, for example, the town of Gréoulieres. Here you can ski up to an altitude of 2400 meters, while you have a view of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

The most famous ski area near the Côte d'Azur is Isola 2000. This ski area is located on the border with Italy and about 85 kilometers from Nice airport. Isola 2000 has 120 km of slopes and the highest point of this ski area is at 2600 m. Because there are not many black slopes, this area is particularly popular with families and beginners.
